The Undergraduate Student Government is committed to a fair and timely election and voting process. To that end, the following information will assist undergraduate students in understanding how to run for elected positions, apply for appointed positions, and vote in the Undergraduate Student Government election.

Run for a position

How to Run

  1. Attend Info Night Session

  2. Attend a USG Public Meeting to see how a meeting is run

  3. Pick up or Print Candidacy Agreement and Signature Petition

  4. Turn in Candidacy Agreement to Commissioners

  5. Get at least 200 signatures in Candidacy Petition Packet

  6. Turn in all documents by February 13th

  7. Submit your Headshot and Platform for Ballot through USG Election Application by February 13th

  8. Attend Candidate Meet and Greet on February 17th at 4PM in the Leadership Center

  9. Run a Campaign!

Senators At-Large Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as the liaison between the USG and the undergraduate students at the Kent campus. Advocate for and represent their needs and interests

  2. Have a strong understanding of Kent State demographics of the undergraduate student population

  3. Research current undergraduate student enrollment for demographic information

  4. Work closely with all student organizations to raise USG involvement and student awareness

  5. Bring to the USG undergraduate student body concerns, ideas, and suggestions

  6. Assigned to special projects as need arises

Voting Dates for the 2020-2021 Undergraduate Student Government Election are March 10th and 11th from 7AM-5PM. Link to vote will be posted at a later date.
