2.2) Levels of Campus Leadership

2.21) Board of Trustees: The Board of Trustees is the governing body of Kent State University.  By Ohio Law the Board is responsible for selecting and appointing the president; setting the operating budget; approving personnel appointments; granting all degrees awarded by the University, including honorary degrees; establishing tuition and fee rates; approving contracts; and approving all rules, regulations, curriculum changes, new programs and degrees of the University.

2.22) The President: The president of Kent State University is the CEO of an organization of more than 38,000 students, more than 6,600 faculty and staff, more than 257,000 alumni and an operating budget of $645 million. The president is aided by a cabinet comprised of senior vice presidents, vice presidents and executives in charge of the university’s major divisions and operations.

2.23) President’s Cabinet and Deans: The President's Cabinet and Decanal Leadership is composed of Senior Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents and executives in charge of the university’s major divisions and operations.

2.24) Academic Leadership: The Office of the Provost oversees all academic units. This organizational listing includes colleges, departments, schools, Regional Campuses, institutes, centers, museums and concert halls.
