*Running for and applying for a position for USG implies you have read through and will plan to attend and adhere to the following calendar and expectations.
January
January 24th - USG Election Marketing Campaign to begin and petitions are to be made available for applicants at 9:00AM.
January 24th - 2023-2024 Undergraduate Student Government Public Meeting held at 5:30 p.m in the KSC Governance Chambers.
January 25th - Informational Meeting at 5:00 p.m. in the Student Center Leadership Suite.
January 30th - Informational Meeting at 5:00 p.m. Student Center Leadership Suite
February
February 3rd - #ElectHer Date
February 7th - 2023-2024 Undergraduate Student Government Public Meeting held at 5:30 p.m.
February 15th - Candidacy orientation meeting held at 5:00 p.m. Option #1 (Candidates must attend one orientation meeting).
February 19th - Candidacy orientation meeting held at 10:00 a.m. Option #2 (Candidates must attend one orientation meeting). (KSC Leadership Center)
February 21st - 2023-2024 Undergraduate Student Government Public Meeting held at 5:30 p.m. in the KSC Governance Chambers.
February 26th - Signature petitions and online applications due by 9:00 a.m. Unofficial list of candidates made available publicly.
February 26th - Election Commission will formally announce the 2023 candidates by 12:00 p.m. virtually (Candidates can start campaigning at 12:00pm)
February 29th - Candidate Meet & Greet held at 5:00 p.m. in the Student Leadership Center
March
March 6th – 2023-2024 Undergraduate Student Government Public Meeting held at 5:30 p.m.
March 12th – Senate debates held at 6:00 p.m. in the Kent Student Center, Rm 318
March 14th – Directors and Presidential debates held at 6:00 p.m. in the KSC Governance Chambers
*March 19th – Election Day: Voting begins at 8:00 a.m.
*March 20th – Election Day: Voting ends at 5:00 p.m.
March 20th - Campaign Finance Report due at 5:00pm
March 20th - 2023-2024 last full Undergraduate Student Government Public Meeting held at 5:30 p.m.
March 20th - Watch Party for Unofficial Election Results at 7:00 p.m.
March 24th- Election result appeals based on procedural errors due by 12:00 p.m.
March 24th - Appointed Position Application Opens (Google Doc)
March 25th - March 31st - Spring Break
April
April 3rd - Undergraduate Student Government Meeting: Last report out for 2023-2024 board and “Passing of the Gavel” as 2023-2024 board assumes office. Official election results announced during the meeting.
April 5th - Appointed Position Application Closes
April 8th- 15th - Interviews for Appointed Positions
April 10th - Group Transition Meeting (New & Old USG Required)
April 17th - Group Transition Meeting (New & Old USG Required)
April 19th- Centennial Gala and Inauguration of the 2024-2025 Undergraduate Student Government
April 26th - Last Public Meeting of the 2023-2024 AY for the 2024-2025 Undergraduate Student Government. Appointed Positions conferred at the meeting.
July
July 10th - Summer Meeting for the 2024-2025 Undergraduate Student Government
July 10th- Allocations Guidelines and Bylaws First Reading
*Amendments
The Election Commission may add additional events or alter currently listed events; however, candidates will not be penalized for scheduling conflicts should the events be altered or added subsequently to the distribution of this schedule. The Election Commission will contact all candidates in a timely fashion regarding amendments to this schedule.
*Candidates should plan on attending at least one USG Public Meeting during the election season.
*Public Meetings and Student Organization Meetings will take place during the Fall and Spring Semester on Wednesdays at 5:30pm unless otherwise specified by the USG. Please hold this evening open on your Fall and Spring Schedules.
